About the project

The HydroBerry project is focused on the development and commercialisation of a hydroponic pot – a product created through the development of hydroponic technologies during the pre-acceleration phase. In that phase, a need was identified for a solution that is simpler and more affordable than the existing systems on the market, while retaining the advantages of hydroponic growing.

The hydroponic pot enables users to grow fresh plants without the need for a large space or prior knowledge of hydroponics. Key features include self-watering without an electric pump, a root aeration system, and a design suited to modern interiors.

Why this matters

Contribution to European Union objectives

The project contributes to the sustainable development goals through a reduction in water consumption and the elimination of the need for pesticides compared with conventional growing methods. The use of recyclable materials and implementation within existing industrial capacities further reduce the environmental footprint of the product. Localised food growing in households reduces the need for transport and the associated emissions.
